Tilicho Lake at 4200mtrs is considered to be one of the highest lakes in Nepal. In 2001, Hindu pilgrims from around the world flocked to the lake convinced it was the holy spot mentioned in the Ramayan, a holy book of the Hindus. Tilicho Lake Trek starts just past Besisahar and goes along the Marshyangdi River with great views of Manaslu and Himal Chuli to the east.
As far as Manang the route follows that of the Annapurna Circuit, but thereafter, this route goes to the main valley to the west and passes through the Khanshar Village (The last village on the route) and up to Tilicho lake. Then we travel to Yak Kharka and up to the Thorung La pass at elevation of 5416 meters, having then rejoined the Annapurna Circuit route.
*From Tilicho Lake you also have the option of crossing the challenging Moesokanta La Pass to Jomsom but additional camping equipments are required to go over this pass.
