Annapurna region is best described as the most happening incentive trekking destination of Nepal. The Annapurna Circuit Trek has been proved as a highly praised and spectacular trekking route in the Annapurna region since it opened to foreign trekkers in 1977. This magnificent trek leads you to the fine village inhabited by a wide diversity of people from different ethnic groups, offering spectacular and majestic view of the white Himalayas.
The trip takes you upstream Marsyangdi river as we gain altitude towards the North through the Lamjung district, which is a nice place to witness the Gurung and Ghermu cultures of Nepal. The trail advances through the left bank of the river and ascends down through narrow gorges. This gorge extends upto a small city in lower Manang district, the Bagarchap. As the Marsyangdi bends towards the west, our trails turns westwards as well and we enter the crossing of Chame, the headquarter of Manang district. The trail starts to become drier and rugged as we approach Chame and the landscape gets even more arid and barren as we enter the upper Manang which is also known as the Nyeshang.
An airfield at Humde is where you take flights to Pokhara, and Humde is the next destination of the trip. As we take a short walk from the Manang village, we eventually reach Hunde where we acclimate for a day to rest and recharge our blood cells before reaching on to our next destination. The trek then advances towards the Thorong-La pass which is at almost 5416 meters above the sea-level, the highest point on the trail. The Thorong-La pass is a rather steep limb from Thorang Phedi, which is itself at 4430 meters altitude. The trails then follows a very long descend to Muktinath, which is at 3800 meters altitude. This is the most strenuous part in the entire trek which is filled with snow all along the way. We approach greenery as we descend form the hill gradually to Kaligandaki to the village of Marpha, which is famous for its juicy apples.. Then the trip takes you through Tukuche, Ghasa and Dana along narrow gorges and waterfalls, all exposing you to the exquisite natural beauty of Nepal. The trek ends at Tatopani where one can rest his legs in the natural hot springs.
