This trek is ideal for people with less time who do not wish to travel too far from the Kathmandu Valley. Helambu is a lush region to the North of Kathmandu inhabited by Sherpas and Tamang people although the Sherpas of this region differ in their practices from their cousins in the Everest region. The trek passes through some beautiful forests and very interesting villages on route.
Helambu hiking is comparatively easier one due to the fact that the elevations are lower, ranging between 800m. and 3600m, offering less climbing as well as warmer temperatures. The most important benefit of helambu treks is that the area is less crowded & free from noise in comparison to the Annapurna trek and some parts of the Everest treks. Besides easy and best trekking, the helambu trek offers a wide range of cultures and spectacular scenery.
